Phosphor bronze

Phosphor bronze is an alloy of bronze, tin and phosphorus. During the melting process the phosphorus is added as a deoxidizing agent. Phosphor bronze is characterized by its strength, toughness and low frictional coefficient. Because of these characteristics phosphor bronze is used for making such springs, bolts, screws, nautical propellers and musical instruments.
