Nickel
Nickel was discovered in 1751 when Frederik Axel Cronstedt tried to isolate copper from nickel ore. The silver white powder that was left, he called nickel. This transition metal is now mainly used in coins, in the manufacturing of rechargeable batteries and the production of stainless steel.
